General Information about Southcity

 PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
The school desires to keep close communication with parents. Parents are welcome to stay during class devotion time and for assembly. Parents may volunteer to help in the classes. Please arrange this with the class teacher concerned.
There is always work to be done around the school, eg: gardening, photocopying, book maintenance, dusting of library shelves etc… If you can contribute in this way please see the Principal or school secretary.

Working Bees: With the planned upgrade of the school facilities this is an opportunity for you to contribute to your child’s school environment as well as mix with other school families. These events are always a great time!

Homework: Parents are asked to supervise their children with homework and special assignments. Homework is generally set four nights a week.

Reporting on Student Progress: Written reports are sent home at the end of Term 4. Parent/Teacher Interviews are held in March. Informal reporting can be made by personal request.

Annual Meeting: An Annual Meeting is held in April/May to keep the parents up to date with Board issues. A financial statement is presented at this meeting.

Board of Trustees: The BOT meet on a monthly basis. These are open meetings which can be attended by parents or other interested parties. Watch the newsletter for notice of meetings.

Prayer Group: All are welcome to attend a prayer meeting held fortnightly at the school. Participants pray for each of the classes, the school as a whole and all connected with it. A prayer chain is also in operation.

P.T.A: This organisation oversees fundraising activities. Parental involvement is needed to achieve financial goals.
